Buffer Stability

--> Buffer Stability is also known as the Buffer Capacity, buffer effectiveness, etc.

--> It is defined as the amount of acid or base that must be added to buffer to produce a unit change of pH. Hence,

                                      β  = ( ΔA or  ΔB)/( ΔpH)             

where, 

β = buffer stability,

ΔA or  ΔB = amount of acid or base added,

ΔpH = unit change of pH
